New to LHS Choir?
Whether you’ve been singing in choir for years or you’re thinking about trying choir for the first time, there’s a place for you in the Lincoln High School program.
Which Choir Will I Be In?
Incoming 9th-grade soprano/alto – you will be in Girls Chorale
Incoming 9th-grade tenor/bass – you will be in Cadet Choir
No audition required to be in Girls Chorale or Cadet Choir
Do I Need To Audition?
For Choir – No
To be in a lunchtime ensemble – Yes, the LHS directors will come and listen to you sing in the spring.
Lunch Time Ensemble?
For incoming 9th-graders there are two lunchtime ensembles:
Canto Fratelli: incoming 9th grade tenor/basses
Cantare: incoming 9th grade soprano altos
Do I still get a lunch? YES - you will eat for half the period and sing in the ensemble the other half.
What is Choir at LHS Actually Like?
In Choir at LHS you will:
-Sing a wide variety of music
-Perform in concerts throughout the year
-Meet students from across Lincoln
-Build your voice and musicianship
-Participate in festivals and contest
-Become part of a supportive community
I’ve Never Been In Choir Before.
Can I Still Join?
YES! You do not need previous choir experience to join. We'll teach you what you need to know. You don't need to know how to read music, you don't need to prepare an audition, and you don't need to think of yourself as a "great singer." You just need to be willing to learn and sing with others.
